It's the final day of my birthday shenanigans. I hope you found some fun goodies along the way. My intentions for this year are to connect more with my readers and write more. That's it. I hope you'll be part of both journeys with me. After all, I wouldn't be writing if not for you.
So...
To connect more with my readers this year, I figured I would open up a bit and share more about me, the quirky, scatterbrained author on the other side of this letter.
Here are 41 "fun" facts about me for your entertainment:
I’m named after my father (His middle name is Lindsey)
I wish I could be barefoot all the time
I don’t collect things (not even books!)
My husband is Guatemalan (and younger than me)
I met him when we both worked in a mechanic’s garage
He didn’t like cats until I got one; now he’s a softy
I cry watching everything (even commercials)
My favorite movies are all 80s and 90s action movies (with the exception of A Few Good Men)
I did some barrel racing when I was a kid
If I could be an animal I would be a horse
I am terrified of the open ocean and the idea of space
I hate being cold
I’m always cold
I’m a sparkling wine snob
I am a nature lover
I hate the business side of being an author
I have a master's degree in Medieval history and culture
The title of my Master's thesis was Evolution of the Ideas of Individualism and Religious Diversity: An Investigation of Martin Luther and King Henry VIII
I went to school for journalism and communications
I’ve worked at a radio station
I used to manage and design weddings (it shaved 5 years off my life)
My dad lives in Hawaii and he calls me Runt
My mom is a hippy and lives up in the mountains
I still talk to my best friend from first grade
I didn't like dinosaurs until I was an adult

I have decision-making fatigue. Always.
I wrote my first book when I was in 3rd grade
I wrote my first adult manuscript in high school
We used to have a life-sized Angelina Jolie Tomb Raider cutout in our room growing up (It was my sister's)
I have Bruce Willis's birthday marked in my calendar (March 14)
I used to have Jonathan Taylor Thomas posters all over my walls when I was young. Is Tiger Beat still a thing? And whatever happened to JTT? Asking for a friend.
When I was young, I wanted to be a singer
My mom thought I would be a National Geographic journalist and photographer because I love nature, writing, and I took a couple of years off to travel
I want to learn to play the piano (I used to when I was young)
My dream is to have a small piece of land in the woods, with a horse, and quiet mornings to drink coffee, watch the sunrise, go on nature walks, and write
My husband and I got married on a cliff in New Zealand on Leap Day
I DESPISE using social media for my author stuff (I only use it because I feel like I have to)
I want to go to a Scandinavian country for our Leap Year anniversary in 2028.
I loved my 30s
I asked Santa for a life-sized Optimus Prime for Christmas; he didn't get me one.

This will be the third installment of The Ending Legacy series, a spin-off of The Ending Series that takes place 300 years later.
The Raven Queen left readers with a bit of a cliffhanger, so I'm excited to work on this in the spring. Specifics depend on Lindsey Sparks' mommy schedule, so there will be more info about this in the months to come. Stay tuned!
